At Ridgefield Youth and Family Services (RYFS), we are committed to ensuring digital accessibility for people with disabilities. We strive to make our website and all online materials accessible and usable for everyone, regardless of ability or technology.

Our Commitment

RYFS believes that all people should have equal access to the services and support we offer (online and in person), and we do not discriminate based on age, race, ethnicity, gender, sexual orientation, or any other characteristic protected by law. We are continuously working to improve the accessibility of our website in accordance with the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1, Level AA standards, and to comply with applicable accessibility laws including the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA).

Accessibility adjustments on this site

To ensure accessibility, we have taken the following steps:

  • Designed our website to be navigable by screen readers and assistive technologies.

  • Provided text alternatives for non-text content (such as images and icons).

  • Ensured appropriate color contrast 

  • Avoided flashing content that could trigger seizures or disorientation

  • Defined clear heading structures on all of the site’s pages

  • Conducted accessibility reviews using automated tools (Accessibility Wizard) and manual testing to find and fix potential accessibility issues.

  • Set the language of the site 

  • Set the content order of the site’s pages

Ongoing Efforts

While we strive to meet accessibility standards across all areas of our site, we recognize that some content may not yet be fully accessible. We are actively working to address and improve these areas.
