Ridgefield Youth and Family Services ("RYFS," "we," "our," or "us") is committed to respecting your privacy and protecting your personal information. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and protect the information you provide to us through our website and related services. 

Who We Are

RYFS is a 501(c)(3) not-for-profit agency located in Ridgefield, Connecticut. We provide professional therapeautic counseling and support services for youth and families. We are supported by the State of Connecticut, the Town of Ridgefield, local businesses and private donors. 

Scope of This Policy

This Privacy Policy applies to: 

  • Visitors to our website

  • Individuals who submit donations 

  • Individuals who complete contact forms or sign up for newsletters

  • Clients and families we serve

This policy does not govern how we handle protected health information (PHI). As a HIPAA-compliant organization, all health related data is managed in accordance with the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA). Information We Collect

We collect only the information necessary to provide and support our services:

a. Donation Form

  • Collected: First name, email address, payment information (processed by Wix)

  • Use: To process donations and send thank-you emails

  • Retention: Minimal, as required for tax and accounting purposes

b. Contact Form

  • Collected: First name, last name, email address

  • Use: To respond to inquiries and follow up on service requests

  • Retention: As needed to manage inquiries

c. Newsletter Subscription

  • Collected: Email address

  • Use: To send periodic newsletters

  • Consent: Only individuals who opt in will receive newsletters

  • Opt-Out: You can unsubscribe at any time via the link provided in our emails.

How We Collect Information

We collect personal data directly through:

  • Online forms (donation, contact, newsletter)

  • User-initiated communications

We also use Wix, a third-party platform, to power our website, process forms, including payments for donation, and facilitate analytics

Cookies & Analytics

We use Wix analytics to monitor website traffic and visitor engagement. This includes general, non-identifiable data such as page views and time spent on site. No personally identifiable information is collected or tracked through these cookies.

Third Party Services

We do not sell or share your personal information.

We use Wix as a trusted third-party service provider for:

  • Payment processing

  • Website analytics

  • Hosting our forms

 

Wix has its own privacy and security measures, and data shared through their system is subject to their policies as well.

Children's Privacy

We provide counseling and related services to youth, including those under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children through our website. Any information collected as part of clinical services is handled securely and in compliance with HIPAA and applicable federal/state laws.

  • Request access to the personal data we have about you

  • Request correction or deletion of your information

  • Unsubscribe from communications
